What Is A Trekking Peak?
It is a peak that is considered climbable by anyone with a limited amount of mountaineering experience and usually requires the use of safely equipment such as crampons and fixed ropes. All of our trips require the safety equipment to be carried.
Mera Peak and Island Peak (Nepal) are both constantly covered in snow and ice and therefore require the use of crampons, harnesses, etc.. The equipment can be hired in Nepal. Stok Kangri (Ladakh, India) is not always covered in snow/ice but the equipment must be carried.
Ideally, you should be familiar with the use of the safety equipment but training is given on site prior to the climbs.
Trekking peaks are a step up from the likes of EBC and Kilimanjaro and are fantastically rewarding.
