A 150km spectacular mountain bike tour through the Happy Valley region of Morocco’s High Atlas mountains. Full 4×4 back up, twisting ascents and nice long, fast descents!
Our Moroccan Mountain Bike adventure takes place in the remote Ait Bougmez valley, known as Happy Valley. This 6 day ride is suitable for all abilities; the 4×4 back up can cater for anyone who needs assistance.
Having spent a comfortable night in Marrakech, we get you fitted for your bike. A variety of high quality bikes are on offer depending on your preference and once we’re all ready, we depart for Damnate (4hrs driving, with a break). On arrival, we jump aboard the bikes and get going for the first day’s ride.
Camping (or using local Gites) everyday in beautiful spots, usually by rivers, the daily rides vary in distance and use a mix of solid dirt tracks and tarmac, both suitable for your supporting 4×4’s, who follow at a discreet distance. Your Guide will be riding with you and it’s all supported by a bike mechanic. The route runs through villages throughout allowing you to experience rural Moroccan Berber life; slow yet welcoming. Some of the ascents are long and twisting but countered by some very long and potentially fast descents! The longest is over 14km; just let those wheels go (carefully)!
Your final full riding day is a glorious ride up through forested mountain terrain, finally stopping under the impressive Cathedral Rock. You camp by the river.
This is tented trip with use of Gites if the weather is not kind. There is full chef support to provide the superb meals daily.
Once the ride has finished, we transfer back to Marrakech to spend your final night exploring the city before flying home the next day.
