Training Weekends

These training weekends can be used in a variety of ways depending on your own circumstances. It is primarily aimed at those that have either booked or thinking about embarking on a trek to gauge how their personal fitness is. This isn't a test!

Next session:
18/19 Sep. Based at Ambleside, Lake District, download preliminary details

Travel and Trek - Kinder Scout
Travel and Trek - Peaks

I also bring along a selection of my own kit in case anyone has questions about what they should buy. Having been on a weekend, many go away with the confidence that they aren't going to die up the first hill in Nepal or similar far flung trekking destination! Many others come back having been on a trek simply because they enjoy the walking with the whole thing being organised for them. Whatever your reason for coming, you will be made most welcome.

As most areas I use are in the country's hilly areas, Youth Hostels are often used as bases as they are inexpensive, comfortable, extremely well placed for walking areas and they can cater for the numbers that usually attend. You do not have to be a member to stay anymore (£3 supplement per night if you are not). You are free of course to make your own arrangements and I often supply a list of suitable accommodation such as B&B's

My fee for organising and guiding this weekend is £25 per person (unless stated). Your food, lodgings and any other incidentals are the individuals responsibility.

To Book:

To book your place, please e-mail me in the first instance to confirm availability and then either send a cheque for £25 to the address below or e-transfer. £15 of the fee is non-refundable should you withdraw after booking.
