Winter Toubkal
Wrap up for this winter variation of the summer Classic Toubkal trek. Potential snow, ice and a scramble up to the summit of Toubkal will provide a challenge all under the watchful eye of an experienced and qualified winter guide. Not for beach lovers!
Toubkal Winter Trek itinerary and information
This trek heads up to the Nelter Refuge first in order to summit Toubkal at the beginning of the trek rather than at the end (as the summer version does) to offset any delays due to the weather. This is definitely for those who either love winter conditions or want to try it.
You will require crampons and ice axes for safety even though they may not be required.
Once you have summitted, you will return down towards Aroumd and then up Tachedirt before heading across the Pass to Morocco's prime ski resort - Oukaimden. You will spend a night here before returning to Marrakesh.
Porters are used to transport supplies as mules will not be put at risk in these potentially very cold and icy conditions. Accommodation will be in either gites or tents depending on conditions.
You can guarantee that the food will be very tasty and plenty of it!
