Dades Trek
This trek is available all year round as it is on the warmer south facing side of the High Atlas. This is a gentle trek through the meandering hills of the southern Mgoun massif. Walking is for no more than 5 - 6 hrs per day.
On arrival in Marrakesh you will be met by your Travel and Trek representative before driving over the mighty High Atlas mountains. This drive alone will show you the beauty of this country before you descend to Ouarzazate, nicknamed 'Gateway to the Desert', for your overnight hotel stop.

From Ouarzazate, you will drive into the beautiful Dades area to begin your trek. Walking for no more than 5 - 6 hrs per day with nice long lunches, you will see plenty of local Berber village life, at times taking tea with them in their houses. Being on the sunnier south side of the mountains, it is it greener with many irrigation ditches feeding the maze of cultivated fields upon which these people rely so much.
This trek crosses numerous water courses (some rivers) and although perfectly crossable, a pair of sandals or similar would be extremely useful to change into to save your walking footwear from getting wet inside!
On the final day, you will complete a short walk before transferring back over the mountains to Marrakesh where you can treat yourself to a well deserved evening out to sample the delights of this unique city.
Note that if your intended flight arrives in Marrakesh late afternoon (or later), it will necessitate arriving the day before and staying overnight in Marrakesh in order to get the transport to Ouarzazate. The overnight accommodation is not included in the price.
