Everest for Softies!
This light hearted, easy paced trek in the Everest region is specifically designed for those that want to see this wonderful region, photograph Mt Everest but do not want to endure the harsh environment of the Everest Base Camp area and stay below the serious level of altitude*. It is conducted at a very leisurely, comfortable pace. No oxygen bottles needed here!
There are two sets of dates now guaranteed to go, departing 25th Sep and 28th Oct (the latter is UK led).

This is the next best thing to hitting the Base Camp, download the itinerary now.
Not everyone wants to get to Base Camp or to endure the harsh conditions that come with the much higher altitude and sub zero temperatures. This trek gets you deep enough into the region, with plenty of opportunities to see and photograph the majestic Mt Everest and other world famous mountains that surround it (such as Makalu, Lohtse and Nuptse). The best views are from Tengbouche (3900m) and this is the furthest point of this trek.
To access the region, you will fly into the mountain airstrip of Lukla; an experience in itself! Once trekking, you will trek through and rest in the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar and be able to explore the local villages of Khunde and Khumjung (often missed by those heading for Everest Base Camp). It is in these villages that some of the local medical facilities are located in addition to a school funded and supported by the Edmund Hilary Trust.
The pace of this trek will not leave you exhausted, the distances between night stops is short enough to allow plenty of time to rest and your main bag is carried for you by the legendary Nepalese Sherpas. That said, there are still a few hills to climb and they tyipcally take approx 2 hrs to ascend but at a responsible pace, they present no problem.
This trek is suitable for just about anyone who is able to trek for up to about 5 hrs a day with plenty of stops.
This is a great opportunity to mix with trekkers and climbers alike, some of which will have summitted the big mountain itself!
*Without going into too much detail, although you will undoubtedly feel the altitude even getting off the aircraft at Lukla, problems that can seriously damage your health don't really begin to surface until you reach the 4000m mark. This trek remains below that level.
