Open Challenges
  • Any individual of charity can join one of our open challenges. This can allow smaller charities who may not be able to attract large numbers of supporters to join a sizable group of like minded individuals. Although as a group you may be raising money for different charities, you will have the same goal; to push yourself to achieve and experience something whilst benefitting others.
This also allows an individual to choose the trip that they would like to join and then nominate a charity to raise funds for.
Closed Challenges
  • Whether large or small, some charities or groups prefer to create a bespoke trip with the aim of raising funds and awareness of a single cause. As a small independent tour operator, our groups can run with a group as small as two individuals so this intention can be achieved without any pressure or loss to the charity.

Self Funded Challenges
  • With this method each supporter pays for the cost of their trip and then raises sponsorship for the charity of their choice. This method is becoming more popular as in todays climate, people are finding it harder to raise sponsorship when it includes the cost of their trip.
Sponsorship Based Challenges
  • Each supporter has to raise a certain amount of money as directed by the chosen charity. The cost of the trip is then paid by the charity from the funds raised with all remaining sponsorship going to the charity. The sponsorship target is always set by the charity be we would always recommend that a minimum of 50% of the total raised should go to the charity with the hope that this is nearer to 60%.

Why a Travel and Trek Charity Challenge?
    • No Middle Man
We are an independent Tour Operator working directly with our own ground handlers in the countries our treks operate. This allows us to maintain full control and be competitive on our prices.
    • No Admin or Set Up fees
Unlike companies who sell other companies’ treks under the umbrella of a charity challenge company, all our treks are run by us therefore we do not charge or make profit from a registration or administration fee.
    • Experience
We do not offer any treks which we have not personally undertaken therefore any advice we give is from our own personal experience and not from a third party.
    • Full Personal Support
From an initial meeting to format the structure of the challenge, we liaise with the charity offering full advice and support for every aspect of the challenge from concept to completion.
    • Group Presentations
We will be more than happy to prepare and deliver a trip presentation combined with a clothing and equipment presentation for potential supporters. This can help generate support and excitement.
    • Media Liaison
We will work along side the charity or individuals to help generate media interest. Our experience has shown that local media support can not only help generate funds for the charity but also awareness and continued support.
    • Full supporting Documents personalized to the charity
Where suitable we are happy to provide the trip documentation personalized to the charity.
    • Direct contact and support with group members
Once you have signed up to a challenge, we will liaise directly with each person offering them individual advice and answering their questions.
    • Training
We will organize group training walks to allow the group to meet, test their kit and ask questions face to face.
