About Us
Travel and Trek Limited is a totally independent UK based company dedicated to providing high quality adventure trekking trips for you. We specialize in Nepal, India, Bhutan, Tanzania and Morocco.
We will be honest; we won't take your booking if we don't feel the trip is for you.
Your money is fully protected against our insolvency by the International Passenger Protection Limited. Your confirmation letter will state this.
We have one small office, no paper heavy brochures and no big marketing strategies. The only paper you receive from us is a confirmation letter of your trip; the rest is all e-mail. We work with equally small, specialised and dedicated companies abroad who know their stuff; no mass operation. Our expertise is our experience.
Travel and Trek is truly independent; it is not owned by a third party and has no affiliation to any other travel company or airline.
The company's sole aim is to provide you with a high quality, small group adventure trek (perhaps with a challenge?), meticulously organised and backed up with an excellent pre-trip service in order to prepare you for what is to come.
Whilst not something that we actively seek, we do occasionally get involved with ecological, community and charity work/projects. In Oct/Nov 2006, we led a group to the Everest Base Camp to remove as much of the rubbish from the area as possible in the time available. In Oct 2008, we led a Sixth Form group that chose to transport over 170Kg of ex UK mountain rescue equipment to Nepal for local use. In Sep 2010 and Apr 2011, we facilitated a Help for Heroes trek to EBC and in Feb 2011, we led a group through the Sahara raising over £8000 for the Grantham Hospice.
Our own Charity (TrekAid) is about to be launched (Mar 2011) specifically targeting an underfunded Govt school in Nepal. We hope to run volunteer work there and be able to really see the difference that our donations make.
Why Travel With Travel and Trek?
Because this is our specialisation. We are small and know our stuff as do our colleagues that will support you abroad. We don't put trekkers through a mass sausage machine; we take care of you. We're flexible and can adjust itinerary to suit just about anyone.
Small Companies Are Good
As a small company, Travel and Trek is able to interact with customers far more closely than many larger counterparts, getting you involved with the preparation for the more challenging treks as early as possible. International Passenger Protection Limited
In accordance with "The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations1992" all passengers booking with Travel and Trek are fully protected for the initial deposit and subsequently the balance of all monies paid to us, including repatriation if required, arising from cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Travel and Trek.
There is no requirement for Financial Protection of day trips, and none is provided. This insurance is only valid for packages booked that DO NOT include flights.
Consumer aware : Your booking is insured by IPP Ltd and its panel of insurers. - This insurance is only valid for passengers who book and pay directly with/to Travel and Trek . If you have booked and/ or paid direct to a Travel Agent for a holiday with Travel and Trek please request proof of how the booking is secured as this will not be covered by IPP Ltd in this instance. In order to deal promptly with any claim hereunder it is essential that you retain all bills, receipts and other documents relating to your travel arrangements.
