My passion for the mountains, the desert, the environment and adventure led me to set up Travel and Trek in April 2005, although informally it has been going much longer than that.
My sole aim is to provide you with a high quality, small group adventure trek (perhaps with a challenge?) with a personal touch to a variety of locations throughout the world.
I have 33 years of military experience behind me and as a Mountain Leader have participated in, organised and led treks to Nepal, Bhutan, India, Morocco, Belize, France, Andorra, Corsica, Switzerland, Italy, Cyprus and Greece. My background has given me a full range of skills to ensure that you get a meticulously well organised and planned trek from the moment you decide to travel. I still lead many of them myself.
I am passionate about global travel and trekking and love to share the beauty and tranquility of the parts of the world that I travel to. I care about the environment and the people I employ in various 3rd world countries. In Oct/Nov 2006, I led a group to the Everest Base Camp to remove as much of the rubbish as we could from that area in the time we had. In Oct 2008, I will be leading a Sixth Form group that have chosen to transport over 170Kg of ex UK mountain resuce equipment to Nepal for local use in support of a charity.
Why Travel With Me or My Company? Whether you travel on a trek led by me or not, you will get a top class service, both before you travel and during it. I deal with my customers personally and directly and I have a huge amount of flexibility. Many companies just have set dates and that's it. If you have a few friends and a specific set of dates, I can fix it. Small Companies Are Good
As a small company, I am able to interact with customers far more closely than my larger counterparts, getting you involved with the preparation for the bigger treks as early as possible. Whilst the bigger companies were bailing out of Nepal in April 2006, simply cancelling ALL treks, I was able to bide my time and it paid off! We were able to travel to Nepal with just 2 days notice as the strikes suddenly ceased.
Come and join me, you won’t regret it.
